Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark isn't wasting any time and is back in the gym working out. A video posted on the Fever's Instagram account on Monday showed Clark's first workout session with head coach Stephanie White. Even though the 2025 WNBA season won't start until May, the All-Star guard is making the most of her free time this offseason.

In the video, Clark worked primarily on her offensive game. More specifically, the star guard and her head coach focused on how she finishes around the rim with her floaters and layups. At the end of the video, the two shared a high five.

Stephanie White replaces Christie Sides, who was fired by the Fever in October despite leading the franchise to its first playoff appearance in eight years.

White previously coached the Fever in 2015-16 and led them to the WNBA Finals in her first season. She spent the last two seasons with the Connecticut Sun, amassing a 55-25 record in 80 games.

Washington Mystics owner questioned TIME Magazine's decision to pick Caitlin Clark as their cover athlete

Caitlin Clark was named TIME Magazine's Athlete of the Year on Dec. 11, making her the first WNBA player to achieve this feat. However, after she was given the honor, there was a lot of talk about her selection.

Washington Mystics owner Sheila Johnson shared her opinion on Clark winning the award:

"Why couldn’t they have put the WNBA on that cover and say, ‘The WNBA is the league of the year,’ because of all the talent that we have," Johnson said. "When you single out one player, it creates hard feelings, so now you’re starting to hear stories of racism within the WNBA, and I don’t want to hear that.
"It’s the way media plays out race," Johnson continued. "I feel really bad, because I’ve seen so many players of color that are equally as talented, and they never got the recognition they should have."

In Caitlin Clark's interview with the magazine, she tackled the topic of racism. Indiana's star recognizes the white privilege that has helped her in her career as an athlete:

"I want to say I’ve earned every single thing," Clark said. "But as a white person, there is privilege. A lot of those players in the league that have been really good have been Black players. This league has kind of been built on them."

Her comments have stirred online debate about the chances she's been given to achieve her WNBA dream.
