WNBA superstar Jonquel Jones brought the heat to the Phoenix Convention Center for the league's All-Star Weekend orange carpet, but not just with her basketball skills. Jones turned heads in a head-to-toe designer look that had fans and the media buzzing.
Jones arrived dripping in luxury, rocking a statement ensemble that combined iconic brands on the WNBA's orange carpet. She sported a chic Louis Vuitton vest, paired flawlessly with patterned Burberry black pants and a Louis Vuitton white shirt. To top it all off, a touch of Gucci platform black shoes brought together the whole outfit.
When asked about the inspiration behind her look and her favorite memory of the All-Star weekend, she said:
"My inspiration was to just go to the store and trying to find something I like and thatI felt would kind of stand out and be a little bit of different of things that I have worn All-Star in the past."
"I would say I think it was 2022 and Allie Quigley won the three-point contest when I was in Connecticut, it was great moment because I knew she wanted to win it, we were kinda celebrate here in the court," Jones added.
Jonquel Jones, a five-time WNBA All-Star and a key player for the New York Liberty, contributed to team's best record in the league at 21-4. She is averaging 15.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game, which ranks second on both lists for New York.
Jonquel Jones to compete in WNBA All-Star 3-point contest
On July 17, the WNBA announced that Jonquel Jones, the 6-foot-6 center for the New York Liberty, will show her three-point shooting skills at the WNBA Starry 3-Point Contest this Friday. The contest is happening at Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, as part of the exciting WNBA All-Star Weekend.
This isn't Jones' first rodeo with the three-point contest. The former WNBA league MVP in 2021 is competing in the 3-point contest competition for the second time. In fact, back in the 2021 All-Star Weekend, she even came in second place.
This year, Jones will be facing some stiff competition. The field includes sharpshooters like Stefanie Dolson, the league leader in three-point percentage (48.5%), and Kayla McBride, who currently has the most three-pointers made this season.
The WNBA's 3-Point Shooting Contest and Skills Challenge is on ESPN this Friday, July 19th, at 9 pm Eastern Time. This will follow the WNBA All-Star Game, which will be played on July 20th at 8:30 pm Eastern Time. Jonquel Jones and her WNBA teammates will battle Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu's Team USA.
