Golden State Valkyries star Kate Martin was seen putting in the work during the offseason on Sunday. Showcasing her reps and keeping up her fitness with various basketball drills, the 24-year-old seems ready to lead her new team to success.

Getting drafted by the newest member of the WNBA during the expansion draft that took place on December 6. Kate Martin seemed to be on the grind for the new season as a clip of her workout was posted on Instagram by trainer Maxwell Schmarzo.

The fitness trainer who goes by the Instagram handle 'stong_by_science' shared a clip of him alongside Kate, captioning the note with a short message:

" Some awesome work with @katemartin Competitive off the move shooting drills, heavy lifting, and some jumping! @katemartin really puts in the work. I think a lot of younger athletes could learn a lot from how pros approach their training. No wasted time, very focused and a mindset with the intent to learn and get better," he wrote.

Kate Martin, who joined former Aces assistant coach Natalie Nakase at the Golden State Valkyries will be looking to get things off on the right note. Nakase has won a couple of titles with the Aces and with a young core led by Martin, they should have enough firepower to make a statement during their inaugural season.

Valkyries fans will love Kate Martin's dedication as she puts in the extra yards

Despite the 2025 WNBA season only beginning on May 17, Valkyries guard Kate Martin looks to be focused on her new beginnings. Sharing a clip of her workout with Maxwell Schmarzo, the former Iowa star, has been training under the 32-year-old since December 9, showing her dedication towards her new team.

The two have been training for over a week with the trainer sharing multiple videos that include pickup games and competitive drills. Her first training session also included some gym work as the trainer posted a video collage on his Instagram account, captioning the post

" Back in the lab with @katemartin one of the newest members of the @valkyriesWe compete, we lift and we get better."

Valkyries fans will love seeing Kate putting in the extra yards for the new franchise as she hopes to have a bigger impact compared to her rookie season. In Martin's first year with the Aces, she played 34 games, starting only 2 of them and averaged 2.6 points, 0.9 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game.

This new start is a promising turn for Kate, who is looking sharp as she prepares for the Valkyries season opener against the Los Angeles Sparks.
