One of the ways that Spike Lee shows support for New York-based teams is by talking trash to players on the other team, and his latest target is Kelsey Plum. Plum's Las Vegas Aces are taking on the New York Liberty in the WNBA's semifinal round, and Spike Lee is in attendance for Game 1.
Just like during the Knicks games, Lee was sitting courtside for the Aces vs. Liberty clash. At one point, Plum walked close to where the director was sitting, and he took the opportunity to say some words to Plum.
The Aces star did not let it slide, and it looked like she also had some words for Lee. The two went back and forth for a moment, but what they said to each other was not clear.

Plum is one of the best players on the Aces roster. She averaged 17.8 points during the regular season, which is second only to A'ja Wilson. In the opening round against Seattle Storm, Plum put up 15.5 points per game.
This matchup between the Aces and the Liberty is a rematch of the 2023 WNBA Finals. The Aces won that series 3-1 for their second straight title.

The New York Liberty struggled to contain Kelsey Plum in the 2023 WNBA Finals
The Las Vegas Aces and the New York Liberty are familiar with each other, having battled for the championship last season. One of the major proponents for the Aces beating the Liberty was Kelsey Plum, who was nearly unstoppable in the Finals.
Against the Liberty's defense, she averaged 21.3 points while shooting 43.3% from the field and 37.9% from beyond the arc. Plum also averaged four rebounds and four assists with 1.8 steals in those four games.
She scored over 20 points in each of their contests in last year's Finals, except in Game 4. Plum struggled in the last game of the series, making only two of her 12 attempts from the field and registering only seven points.
Her team was able to pick up the slack, though, and the Aces brought home their second straight title at the Liberty's expense.
During the 2024 regular season, the Aces and the Liberty battled three times, with the New York squad winning each one. During those three games, Plum averaged 20 points, 3.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds.
