Las Vegas Aces point guard Chelsea Gray made her much-awaited 2024 WNBA season debut on Wednesday. The three-time champion returned to professional basketball during the Aces' 94-83 win against the Seattle Storm at Michelob ULTRA Arena. The game marked Gray's first appearance in a WNBA game in 249 days.
Fans were eagerly awaiting the return of the two-time Finals MVP, and it showed. In her first game back after a lengthy injury-forced hiatus, the "Point Gawd" came off the bench and checked into the game with 1:41 remaining in the first quarter.
Fans inside the arena went berserk at the sight of Gray stepping onto the court. The Aces' star was greeted with resounding applause as fans hollered and screamed in delight.

Chelsea Gray missed the Aces' first 12 games of the season with a left foot injury she suffered during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals against New York Liberty last year.
After undergoing an extensive rehabilitation program, Gray finally made her highly-anticipated comeback.
Chelsea Gray's performance in her comeback game
Just nine seconds after checking into the game, Gray was out there notching milestones. The five-time All-Star breached the 1,500-assist mark with her first dime on the night.
The Las Vegas Aces point guard became only the ninth player in league history to complete 1,500 assists. She also became the fifth fastest player to the milestone, having accomplished the feat in 298 games.
Gray didn't have a big scoring game on her return, finishing with just one point in 16 minutes of play.
She orchestrated the team's offense during her time on the court, be it finding open shooters or threading the needle with a pass for an open layup, Gray did it all in her first game back for the Aces.
She failed to convert either of her two shot attempts into a basket, scoring her solitary point from the free-throw line. Gray dished out seven assists and grabbed four rebounds along with two block shots. She was a +5 on the night for Las Vegas.
The defending champions will undoubtedly be delighted after having Gray back into the scheme of things, especially in a year in which they are gunning for a 3-peat.
It is also a matter of time before the veteran point guard is integrated back into the starting lineup, and fans will hope it happens sooner rather than later.
The Las Vegas Aces (7-6) host the Connecticut Sun (13-1) next at Michelob ULTRA Arena on Friday.
