Kelsey Plum took to Instagram to share memories of her Paris 2024 Olympics campaign. The guard was part of an elite unit that managed to win an eighth consecutive gold. Plum won her second gold medal in the marquee event and thanked her family, friends, and team for being part of her support system.
She added a series of pictures in her latest post on Instagram and captioned it:
"Just thankful for the people who help make it come together. We are the company you keep."
There was a P.S. as well where she added she could add just 10 people.
Responding to the post was her Las Vegas Aces teammates Kate Martin and Alysha Clark. At the time of writing, the post has seen over 65,000 likes and features a smiling Plum with her family and friends in all of the pictures.
The post comes after what was a difficult offseason for the guard who announced her divorce with Darren Waller, the NFL star who played for the NY Giants. She took to Instagram to share a story of her divorce before the start of the season.
A'ja Wilson hyped up Kelsey Plum after Aces teammates win gold together
2024 Olympics MVP and Plum's teammate A'ja Wilson took the opportunity to promote Plum on X, formerly known as Twitter. After the win, Plum danced to Kendrick Lamar's hit, "They Not Like Us," while the rest of the team cheered.
Plum and Wilson played key roles in Team USA's win over France in the gold medal game. Plum registered 12 points, while Wilson led with a game-high 21 points. Now, the duo will look to help the Aces defend their WNBA championship for the third time in as many years.
Kelsey Plum averaged 18.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in the first half of the WNBA season. The Aces had a bit of a slump, but have bounced back to fifth overall in standings with a 16-8 record winning eight of their last 10 games. They resume their title defense with a three-game homestand and start with a stern test against the New York Liberty on Aug. 17. It remains to be seen if the Aces make a playoff run this season and possibly win a third-straight WNBA championship.
