Sky rookie Angel Reese made a playful remark when rapper Latto shared photos of herself attending Tuesday's game between Chicago and the Atlanta Dream.

Latto took to Instagram to post pictures of her outfit, featuring a Raga Malak top and bottom, Dior shades and silver boots with a matching handbag.

In the comments, Angel Reese seemed to tease the rapper, writing:

“we know who you came to the game for🤭 fine afff.”

It’s unclear who Reese was referring to, but it could be herself, as she and Latto were seen together the day before.

It was Latto’s second time watching Angel Reese and the Sky play. She first attended a game in May during the Sky’s season opener in Dallas.

Another possibility is that Reese was hinting at rapper 21 Savage, who has been linked to Latto. 21 Savage is based in Atlanta, and rumors suggest the two are dating.

Meanwhile, the Sky, without the injured Angel Reese, lost the game 86-70.

Examining the Sky’s performance without Angel Reese

The Sky have played five games since Angel Reese’s season-ending wrist injury, and her absence has been a huge setback. She led the league in rebounds per game (13.1) and offensive rebounds per game (5.1).

Reese, the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft out of LSU, ended her rookie season with 26 double-doubles, the most by a rookie. The WNBA single-season double-double record, held by Alyssa Thomas of the Connecticut Sun, is 28, set in 2023.

In their first game without Reese, the Sky pulled off a dominant 92-77 win over the Dallas Wings. However, they’ve since dropped four straight games, losing their grip on the final playoff spot.

They suffered a 31-point defeat to the Washington Mystics, 89-58, followed by a blowout loss to the Minnesota Lynx, 83-66. They narrowly lost to the Phoenix Mercury, 93-88, and fell to the Dream by 16 points in their most recent matchup.

As she announced her injury, Reese said that she’s looking forward to her return to women’s basketball through the Unrivaled 3x3 league and will use the time off to recover both physically and mentally.

“I am finally able to give myself a physical and mental break,” she said. “You’ll still see me being the biggest cheerleader on the sideline! And Unrivaled league, see you soon.”

With one game left against the Connecticut Sun, the Sky need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. They must also rely on the Dream and Mystics losing their remaining games to secure the eighth seed.
