Chicago Sky star Angel Reese was asked to recruit Dallas Wings forward Satou Sabally by fans on Thursday as the duo conversed on social media. The former LSU Tigers player replied to a post featuring Satou, triggering an interaction that garnered the attention of WNBA fans.
Angel commented on a TikTok post showcasing Satou's photoshoot from the 3-on-3 league Unrivaled's media day as the star prepares to suit up for Phantom BC in the new 3x3 league. Reese, who is also participating in the league with Rose BC, replied to Sabally with a one-word compliment.
"Fineeeee," she wrote.
Satou, who took a pay cut to sign a one-year deal with the Wings worth $195,000 last term, announced Thursday she won't re-sign with Dallas and will become a free agent in winter. She replied to Reese's comment with a single word.
"Youuuu," she posted.
Fans reacted to this interaction between the two WNBA stars on X (formerly Twitter) as a Reese fan handle named "@reesesmani" reposted it on the platform.
"Angel you gotta work harder nowww please," the fan pleaded to Angel.
Other fans joined along to react to Reese potentially recruiting the 26-year-old to the Sky.
"Definitely we need her on our team," a fan wrote.
"Babe go get some Chicago merch now we need this one," expressed a second account.
"we need you to recruit!" another posted.
One fan reacted with two laughing emojis as the interaction between Reese and Satou seemed to amuse him.
Satou Sabally has become a wanted woman on the free agency portal after she revealed her intentions to leave the Wings after four years with the team. During Unrivaled's media day, the former Oregon star revealed she had "already played my last game" in Dallas and will look for newer pastures in the coming months.
Sabaly will enter free agency on Jan. 21, which means the Wings will likely use their core designation on Satou. This will allow the Dallas team to sign her and then trade her to a favorable destination once the free agency begins.
Angel Reese reacts to being on the cover of Vogue magazine
Angel Reese was the face of Vogue Magazine's Winter edition for 2025 as she celebrated the start of the new year in style. The former LSU star was seen donning a red split dress as she struck a power pose in a sleek yet commanding look.
The Chicago Sky forward expressed her views on being a baller and fashionista, as Vogue contributor Maya Singer reported. Expressing her views on both, the young star said:
"It’s always been both: basketball and fashion. I was always in my mom’s closet, putting on her stuff. I liked to carry a purse. Hair done. I wanted to look put together. I still do."
Angel made history with her Vogue cover honor as she became the first WNBA player to be featured on the magazine's cover. This is a huge marker in women's sports, as her rival, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, became the first WNBA athlete to feature on the cover of People magazine just over a month ago.
