Connecticut Sun center Olivia Nelson-Ododa took to X on Saturday to clarify a recurrent rumor about her love life. Nelson-Ododa joined her teammates in wearing all-black outfits ahead of Game 3 of their second-round series against the Minnesota Lynx.
Her picture made the rounds on social media, with one fan wondering if Tiffany Hayes could fight, implying they would fight for the love of the Sun player.
"Can Tiffany Haynes fight???😭😭 CAUSE DAMNNNN ONO IS SO STUNNINGGG!!!🫠🫠," this person tweeted.
Nelson-Ododa took the opportunity to clarify she wasn't dating the Las Vegas Aces player.
"hi! we are NOT dating. hope this helps!" she quote-tweeted the post.
LA Sparks star Dearica Hamby chimed in.
"Lmao tell them you’re also in my meetings 😂😂😂😂," she said.
It's unclear where the rumor of Nelson-Ododa and Hayes dating came from, but the Sun player shot it down. She's focused on helping the Sun overcome their 2-1 deficit against the Minnesota Lynx after a 90-81 loss on Friday.
Hayes, the 2024 Sixth Player of the Year, is trying to do the same with the Aces after they bounced back with a 95-81 statement win over the New York Liberty.
Connecticut Sun are on the verge of elimination from 2024 WNBA playoffs
The Connecticut Sun have been one of the most consistent teams in the WNBA for the past couple of seasons and they entered the season with high expectations.
Alyssa Thomas, Brionna Jones, DeWanna Bonner and others were hoping to bring the championship to the Mohegan Sun Arena.
They also added Marina Mabrey via trade ahead of the All-Star break. Many felt she was the last piece of the puzzle for Stephanie White's team. The Connecticut Sun eliminated Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the first round of the postseason with a sweep.
While Mabrey made an instant impact, she was unable to help them move past the Minnesota Lynx in Game 3 of the series.
After stealing Game 1 at Target Center, the Sun have been unable to win again. They are on the verge of elimination unless they bring their A-game tomorrow and force a win-or-go-home duel in Minnesota.
Game 4 is set to start at 5 pm ET.
