"Officially done with her": Fans call out Becky Hammon as video mocking Breanna Stewart resurfaces

When calling out Las Vegas Aces Becky Hammon for her shot at Breanna Stewart, WNBA fans didn't mince words. The Las Vegas Aces head coach had taken a shot at New York Liberty star's 3-17 in a decisive game last year, and the clip mocking the forward resurfaced after NY trounced Hammon and co. 87-77 in the Game of the WNBA semifinals on Sunday.

Hammon reminded the 2023 WNBA MVP of the performance during the Aces championship parade, but with the tide turning in the first game, the fans were quick to roast the Aces manager for her comments last year.

One of the comments read:

"Wow i hadn’t seen that before… what a d**k move by becks. I hope Stewie has this as her ring tone and keeps dropping 30s all series."

More reactions followed suit. @dgibbs8108 tweeted:

"This should tell you all you need to know about Becky Hammon"

@bigwk50 seconded the thoughts.

"Between this, the Hamby thing and whining about A'ja not getting dpoy, I think I'm officially done with her"

@michelletoocool knew who she was supporting this season.

"Becky is trash! Can't wait for the aces to go down"

@gsheverything said:

"Was she like that in San Antonio Spurs too???"

@laterulsphill added:

These are the WNBA players you all look up? The system has failed since 97. There needs to be a culture change drastically in this league."

Breanna Stewart dropped 34 points against the Las Vegas Aces in Game 1, and her shooting blitz also included five rebounds and four assists. Sabrina Ionescu was the perfect foil with 21 points, four boards, and five assists. The win sees the Liberty go 1-0 up in the series.

"I don't forget who I am": Breanna Stewart oozes confidence after Game 1 win vs Las Vegas Aces

It may have looked like sweet revenge, but Breanna Stewart's words hinted that her solid performance on Sunday vs the Aces was just the start. While she had remained quiet during Hammon's dig last year, the forward rolled the Aces in Game 1, adding she believed what she was capable of as a player postgame.

"I think I've just kind of grown from it. I've had -- unfortunately -- a lot of time to reflect on it, and where can I be better. And how to handle things collectively better. But with that, I don't forget who I am and what I can do."

It's worth noting that the Aces are 0-4 against the New York Liberty this season, and they now have a decisive Game 2 that determines their next run in the league. Stewart came to New York in 2023 as the most sought-after free agent in WNBA history. She won two league titles when suited up for the Seattle Storm.

Breanna Stewart also won her first MVP award in 2018. A native of Syracuse, New York, and 4x NCAA champion at UConn, Stewart came to NY both to be closer to home and to help her hometown team win their first title.
