Kate Martin offered the best advice to Iowa women's basketball team

Kate Martin had a successful college basketball career with Iowa. She was one of her team's leaders and made national championship game appearances in consecutive years.

In a video posted by ESPNW, the 24-year-old guard met with the current Iowa women's basketball team and asked the young players to believe and become the best versions of themselves.

“Why not just go all in? The first Final Four we had the mantra like ‘why not us’. It’s like why not show up every single day and work your as* up and see what can happen. What’s the worst that can happen, why not come in and make extra shots and be the best teammate you can possibly be and see where your life is gonna take you because maybe you can go out and live your dream and play basketball professionally?"
"Don’t play any limitations on who you can be and where you guys can go because that's bullsh*t," Martin said.

During the 2022-23 season, Martin and Caitlin Clark led their team to the national championship game against Angel Reese and LSU. However, Iowa lost the game, 102–85.

This past season, the Hawkeyes made it to the title game again and faced the South Carolina Gamecocks. It was a closer matchup, but the team came up short, losing by eight points, 87–75.
