When does 2024 WNBA Season end? Last date and schedule explored

Indiana Fever v Los Angeles Sparks
Looking at when the WNBA season will end

Unlike the NBA, the WNBA only has 40 games in each season. The first regular season game started on May 15. League games will continue to be played throughout the NBA's offseason, giving fans something to watch during the summer.

The final games of the regular season will be on September 19, 2024. All teams will get a chance to play their final game on the same day. The Chicago Sky will take on the Connecticut Sun, while the Atlanta Dream will play against the New York Liberty.

The Indiana Fever will play against the Washington Mystics and the LA Sparks will play their final game against the Minnesota Lynx. The Dallas Wings will try and beat the defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces while the Seattle Storm will play against the Phoenix Mercury.

The playoffs will follow shortly after on Sept. 22. According to the league's website, the last possible date for WNBA action could be on Oct. 20. It will depend on the number of games it could take for teams to finish their best-of-five series in the finals.

Fans can check other key dates for their season on their official website.

Mercury makes WNBA history in their most recent game

The Mercury made their way into the record book after their last game, but it wasn't for something positive. The Phoenix team relied too much on shooting the long ball that it ended up being their nightmare against the Sun. The team shot 1-27 from beyond the three-point arc and registered 3.7% from that range.

Their embarrassing performance became the lowest three-point percentage in a single game in the league's history. They were also limited to just 47 points that game because of their abysmal performance from beyond the arc.

There wasn't a single player who reached double digits in scoring and Natasha Cloud was the only player who came close. She recorded nine points and three assists but went 0-3 from beyond the arc.

Diana Taurasi didn't have the best performance of her career during the game as she finished with six points and missed all seven of her attempts from three. Taurasi had the most attempts from deep.

Aside from their struggles shooting the basketball, the team garnered 20 turnovers to the Sun's nine during the game. Their field goals also didn't look good, although their missed threes accounted for most of those numbers. They only made 15 shots of their 63 attempts from the field.
