The Indiana Fever and Connecticut Sun lock horns in Game 2 of their 2024 WNBA Playoffs first-round series on Wednesday. Caitlin Clark potentially would be playing the last game of her rookie season if the Fever fail to record a win following their dismal 93-61 Game 1 loss from Sunday.

As things stand, that's the likeliest outcome. Indiana seemed outmatched because of its inexperience, which Connecticut fed off of. Nevertheless, it's expected to be an enticing clash, thanks to Clark's presence and potential to single-handedly turn a contest on its head.

Where to watch Indiana Fever vs Connecticut Sun Game 2? (Sept. 25)

The Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun Game 2 will be live on ESPN. While it won't stream live on WNBA League Pass, it will be available on demand once the game ends. Coverage will start at 7:30 p.m. EDT at Mohegan Sun Arena, the Sun's home floor.

According to Fan Duel, Connecticut is a -6-point favorite to sweep the Fever and advance to the semis, where they might face the Minnesota Lynx or Phoenix Mercury. If the Fever force a Game 3, the series will shift to Indiana, giving Caitlin Clark and Co. a much-needed boost in their hopes of advancing to the next round.

Indiana Fever vs Connecticut Sun Game 1 recap

The Fever had a forgettable Game 1 contest against the Sun. Caitlin Clark's underwhelming outing had more to do with it than anything else. She produced only 11 points on 4-of-17 shooting. Clark had three points at the halftime break, with the Fever down eight.

While she found some rhythm in the second half, her teammates ran out of steam after a respectable first half. The Sun's defense deserved the credit for limiting the Fever from getting out in transition and causing problems. Connecticut used Indiana's offensive game plan against them by getting stops consistently and scoring at will in transition.

The Sun had 18 fastbreak points to the Fever's nine. They also gained a 50-36 paint-scoring advantage, with DeWanna Bonner (22 points) and Alyssa Thomas (14 points and 10 rebounds) doing most of the damage.

Shooting variance also played a part in the Fever's loss. They made only six 3s all night on 28 attempts, while the Sun made nine on just 18 attempts. Marina Mabrey had an explosive second half as she tallied 20 of her 27 points in the final 20 minutes, shooting seven of 12, including five of eight from 3.

All hope is not lost for the Indiana Fever, especially if they can hit 3s consistently like they have nearly every game since the All-Star and Olympic break. A slightly better effort on defense, especially on the interior, could also take them a long way.
