Las Vegas Aces vs. Atlanta Dream: Game Preview

The visitors come on the back of a dominant 84-79 win over the Seattle Storm, while the Dream are having a nightmare with a five-game losing streak.

The focus shifts to playoffs seeding as the 2024 WNBA season hits the midway mark. Las Vegas has bounced back following their mini-slump early on this season, while Atlanta is looking to secure an eighth-seed berth. Placed ninth, they will look to notch up some wins and get ahead of the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever, placed seventh and eighth, respectively.

Atlanta will bank on Rhyne Howard, who is averaging 15.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Second up is Allisha Gray, who contributes 16.3 points and 4.1 boards. Tina Charles (13.8 points, 8.5 rebounds) and Cheyenne Parker (9.4 points, 5.0 rebounds) have been putting up decent stats this season.

The Aces are led by A'ja Wilson (27.1 points, 11.3 rebounds). Kelsey Plum has been shooting well, with 18.9 points and 4.7 assists per game. They are the more well-rounded unit, leading the league in offense, and have the defensive prowess to stifle the Dream.

Player to watch out for: Las Vegas Aces forward A'ja Wilson

It has been a scintillating season so far for A'ja Wilson, as the forward continues to light up arenas with big games. Her ability to consistently contribute on both ends of the floor makes her one of the more lethal players in the circuit. Add the fact that she won Best WNBA Player at the ESPYs.

The Aces star will look to continue her solid performance against the Dream. Expect her to put up an impressive outing vs Atlanta.
