The Las Vegas Aces head to the capital to take on the struggling Washington Mystics at Entertainment and the Sports Arena on Saturday. The Aces are coming off a dominant 95-83 win on the road against the Chicago Sky. With three wins on the bounce, Las Vegas has improved to 9-6 and is currently fifth on the WNBA standings.

The Mystics have endured a forgettable campaign with just four wins in 18 games, and are 4-6 in their last 10 games. On paper, the two-time defending champions are favorites to close out a win and improve their run as the 2024 season hits the halfway mark.

The Saturday matchup will be the first of the three-game series between both sides this season. Head-to-head, the Mystics and Aces have split their 48 games with 24 wins each. Both teams have split their last four meetings with two wins each. The last time both sides faced off was in September 2023 with the Aces winning the clash 84-75 in a home game. A'ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray spearheaded with 26 and 21 points respectively to lead the Aces to a win.

All eyes will be on A'ja Wilson as the forward-center continues to dominate the league with scintillating performances on both ends of the floor. The two-time WNBA MVP has been on a tear this season, averaging 27.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1.9 steals and 2.0 blocks. The recent win against the Sky saw her notch up 31 points, six rebounds and three assists in 34 minutes of action.

Wilson has two 30+ and three 20+ point games in her last five outings. She also headlines the 2024 MVP race this season with Connecticut Sun's Alysha Thomas and Minnesota Lynx's Napheesa Collier in second and third place, respectively.
