Angel Reese was on the receiving end of trolling from WNBA fans for complaining that her Unrivaled team, Rose BC had fewer followers. The Chicago Sky forward is one of the marquee names in the side that includes Las Vegas Aces veteran point guard, Chelsea Gray, Washington Mystics guard Brittney Sykes, Phoenix Mercury's Kahleah Copper, LA Sparks' Azurá Stevens, and Indiana Fever star Lexie Hull.
Reese took to X (formerly Twitter) saying she heard there were fewer followers for the side, urging fans to take notice. This, in turn, saw her cop some mocking.
"I’m hearing that RoseBC don’t have the most followers on IG? Yall not real fans frl😭 GO FOLLOW NOW!"
One of the fans responded with a Caitin Clark namedrop soon after.
"Which team is CC on? That one probably has the most I bet"
This was seconded by another fan who wrote:
"Which team is CC on?"
One of the fans laid it out straight asking why Reese was making demands.
"You’re demanding people to follow someone now? You’re high key a 0-10."
A fan called her GPA into question over grammar.
"Don’t have? 1.8 GPA!"
Some fans made an earnest attempt.
"Link us the ig account, I had no clue there was one"
Despite the flak, there have also been Angel Reese fans lavish in their praise of the Sky forward after seeing her in Rose threads. Fans will get to see her in action for the first time on January 17.
Angel Reese wanted to be teammates with Allisha Gray ahead of Unrivaled action
Angel Reese had earlier made it clear that she wanted to be teammates with 2x WNBA All-Star Allisha Gray ahead of Unrivaled. Responding to one of Gray's posts, Reese commented:
"let’s be teammates for unrivaled?? thanks. ~management 😇
Both Reese and Gray have signed up for the inaugural season of Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier's marquee tournament. The Atlanta Dream's former ROTY will play for the Lunar Owls which also includes Skylar Diggins-Smith, Napheesa Collier, Natasha Cloud, and Shakira Austin.
It's worth noting that Angel Reese and Gray were also teammates during the 2024 WNBA All-Star Game as they helped Team WNBA get past Team USA, 117-109. Gray seems to have left an impression on the young Sky forward. As for Clark, the Indiana Fever star will not be suiting up for the inaugural edition of the tournament.
