WNBA star Angel Reese announced this week that she and Emmy Award winner Maya Reese would launch a new podcast called "Unapologetically Angel." Fans noticed the common last name and questioned whether Angel and Maya were related. While the two share no relation, Maya Reese has made a name for herself in the content space.

Maya Reese's resume features some of the biggest sports outlets such as NBC Sports, CBS, SB Nation and Overtime. During her career in media, Maya Reese won seven awards for content creation. She has been a podcast producer and co-host for Playmaker.

The outlet is described as an agency for sports media with over 50 athletes and creators working on over 30 shows. In addition, her LinkedIn indicates she currently works as an on-air host for Bleav, working on the "She Got Next" podcast.

The show has been airing since 2023, with Maya Reese and co-host Dallas Hunt of "Legal Licks" talking about a wide range of topics, the primary focus being sports.

Given her extensive experience in the content creation space, Maya Reese appears to bring a wealth of knowledge to Angel Reese's highly-anticipated new show as a co-producer and co-host.

Angel Reese and Maya Reese's new show "Unapologetically Angel" will come out on Sep. 5, with new episodes released every Thursday. Given that the WNBA is still in-season, and Reese and the Chicago Sky are sitting within playoff contention, the expectation is that the show will be pre-recorded rather than live.

The show is expected to primarily revolve around Angel Reese who will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at her life. However, Reese shared in a video for her Instagram story this week that the show will also have several celebrities making guest appearances.

Reese specifically name-dropped rappers Meg Thee Stallion and Cardi B as two guests she planned to have on. The show will also notably be a part of Shaquille O'Neal's The Big Podcast Network given how close Reese and O'Neal are.

The two LSU alums have had a great relationship since Reese's NCAA days. O'Neal attended several Reese's games and even escorted Reese to LSU's senior day in May.

With the first episode of the highly-anticipated show on Sep. 5 nearing, Reese released a trailer for the show on X on Tuesday morning.

Reese and the Chicago Sky will return to action on Friday when they face the DC Mystics. The team will look to improve in the standings ahead of the WNBA playoffs.
