After making waves with her pre-game outfit on Friday, DiJonai Carrington is listed as out for Saturday's game against Angel Reese and Rose BC. Her absence will make it two in a row following a DNP in Friday's game between Mist BC and Phantom BC.
Per USA Today's Meghan L. Hall's report Saturday, Carrington will be out with a left leg injury. At the same time, fellow Mist BC standout Jewell Loyd is listed as probable with a right leg injury.
Mist BC and Rose BC remain the only two winless teams in the all-new Unrivaled league co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier. Heading into Saturday's game, Rose BC is 0-2 this season, while Mist BC is 0-3.
While Carrington played well in Mist's opening game against the Lunar Owls last week, registering eight points, five rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block, she struggled in the team's second game, shooting just 1-10 from the floor and scoring two points.
When the Unrivaled action picked up this weekend, she was absent from the floor as Mist suffered a 74-69 loss on Friday.
DiJonai Carrington makes waves with pre-game outfit on Friday despite absence
While DiJonai Carrington was absent from the floor on Friday when Mist took on Phantom BC, she made waves online thanks to her pre-game outfit. While Carrington didn't play in Friday's game, she was still in Miami to support her teammates against the Phantoms.
During pre-game arrival photos, Carrington was seen wearing a hoodie from rapper YG's F**k Donald Trump Tour in 2016. Back in 2016, when Donald Trump was first running for US President, the rapper joined forces with Nipsey Hussle for a nationwide tour headlined by their F**k Donald Trump song.
While some fans praised DiJonai Carrington for the fashion choice, others criticized the Mist standout for the vulgar message.
The situation even caught the attention of right-wing news outlet Fox News, which covered it in an article early Saturday morning. As the outlet pointed out, Carrington posted several public messages supporting Kamala Harris, Trump's political opponent in the 2024 election.
