Sabrina Ionescu will join New York Liberty teammate Breanna Stewart in the Unrivaled Basketball League that the latter co-founded. She, however, rued missing 'Stewie' during the league's behind-the-scenes shoot for its inaugural season.

Stewart, who led the Liberty to their first-ever WNBA title last season, shared a carousel of videos and photos of her during their shoot with her Mist Basketball Club squad on Instagram.

She captioned it:

"BTS vibes are misty 🏔️🥶❄️"

Sabrina Ionescu, who formed a dynamic duo with Stewart in their championship run, reacted to the post, playfully commenting:

"Why didn’t I see you ugh."
Where you at, Stewie?

Ionescu was the final wild card selection for Unrivaled, joining the Phantom Basketball Club crew. She will play alongside Jackie Young (Las Vegas Aces), Marina Mabry (Connecticut Sun), Satou Sabally (Dallas Wings), Tiffany Hayes (Aces) and Brittney Griner (Mercury). They will be coached by Adam Harrington, former assistant and director for player development for the Brooklyn Nets.

The Phantom and Mist basketball clubs are two of the six competing teams for the inaugural season of the 3-on-3 Unrivaled Basketball League, which will tip off on Jan. 17 in Miami and run until March 17.

The league was co-founded by Stewart and Napheesa Collier of the Minnesota Lynx and geared towards providing a practical alternative for women's professional players to strut their stuff while earning good money during the WNBA offseason.

Sabrina Ionescu says she made sure to weigh her options first before saying yes to Unrivaled

Sabrina Ionescu was the last player to agree to play in the newly formed 3-on-3 Unrivaled Basketball League. She weighed her options first and everything was ironed out.

She spoke about it in an article which came out on Dec. 23 on the Associated Press, where she shared the decision process she had before coming on board the new league.

Ionescu said:

"It was a huge decision getting me to play or not. I weighed out all of my options and decided to do what's best for me and my career. Being able to take part in a league that is the first of its kind with a historic deal and on the ownership side of it is important for me."

Unrivaled also allowing her to miss some time through the course of the tournament, she said, also played a role in her decision.

Sabrina Ionescu had a stellar WNBA campaign last time around, posting numbers of 18.2 points, 6.2 assists, 4.4 rebounds and a steal in 38 games. She also had an eventful playoff run that culminated in her winning her first league title with the New York Liberty.
