Performance of the WNBA Award Winners for July
#A'ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces)
A'ja Wilson is undoubtedly the best women's basketball player in the world. The reigning WNBA Finals MVP won her third consecutive Western Conference Player of the Year award. In total, the 2-time WNBA champion has 11 Player of the Month honors to her name.
In July, Wilson led the league in points (27.8), rebounds (13.6) and blocks (4). The 2-time league MVP also averaged 1.9 steals while shooting 54.4% from the field, including 41.2% from beyond the arc.
The Aces won six of their eight games in July and Wilson was the primary reason behind all of the team's victories.
#Sabrina lonescu (New York Liberty)
While last year's MVP Breanna Stewart was slightly banged up, Sabrina lonescu led Liberty's charge from the front. The 3-time All-Star averaged 23.2 points per game in July and shot 42.7% from the field, including 35.7% from downtown.
Riding on lonescu's brilliance, New York won five of their six games played in July. The Liberty star also jumped to second place in the list of most 3-pointers made by a player in franchise history.
#Caitlin Clark (Indiana Fever)
Caitlin Clark consolidated her case for the Rookie of the Year award with sensational performances throughout the month. Clark secured her second Rookie of the Month award this season.
The former Iowa superstar averaged a double-double in six games. The rookie tallied 20.3 points, 12.5 assists and 6.3 rebounds.
Among the numerous records shattered by Clark, the Fever's first-year player became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double. She achieved the milestone during Indiana's game against New York on July 6.
#Sandy Brondello (New York Liberty)
Under Sandy Brondello's tutelage, the Liberty won five games and lost just one in July. As a result, Brondello was awarded the Coach of the Month award for the third time in her career.
New York finished the first half of the season with a stupendous 21-4 record and is currently ranked as the No. 1 team in the league.
