Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was seen attending the AFC Divisional Round on Saturday with pop icon Taylor Swift to support the Kansas City Chiefs. Fans on social media expressed their frustration with the WNBA for not acknowledging the appearance, as other leagues across the country featured the duo on their social media accounts, while the WNBA remained silent.
The criticism began when Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark were photographed together at a Kansas City Chiefs game, and the NWSL X account mentioned them in a tweet. Both women were supporting the Chiefs, with a photo showing Taylor whispering into Caitlin's ear making the rounds. Using this picture to market the league, the NWSL account tweeted:
"We should totally go to an NWSL game this season,” as they added the image of Taylor whispering into Caitlin's ear.
This particular Tweet caused a frenzy among fans as many were left unimpressed with other leagues mentioning Caitlin but not the WNBA:
"WNBA digi team is a Clark hater and a woke activist. I don't get disappointed anymore that league is weird a*s."
"NWSL too, WNBA nowhere to be found," wrote a fan unimpressed by the lack of effort from the WNBA.
Another fan retweeted and gave his take on the subject:
"The WNBA doesn’t know how to show off their first superstar, unfortunately," he expressed his discontentment.
"They don’t want to either. How pathetic and an embarrassment of a league," claimed a third tearing into the WNBA.
"At this point I’m more surprised when they actually do post something about CC. It’s like pulling teeth with them, like why not capitalize on it. Weird," wrote a third.
Fans were upset that the WNBA missed the chance to promote the league alongside Caitlin Clark, especially since two of the biggest female icons in the country were sitting together at the event. In contrast, the NFL, NWSL, and other leagues seized the opportunity to showcase the pair, which garnered a strong reaction from many.

Caitlin Clark was seen in the Chiefs' box just days after she expressed her love for the team on the "New Heights" podcast, hosted by Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. In her remarks, Clark explained why she supports the Chiefs, sharing her enthusiasm for the team.
"I had family in Kansas City, and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours from Kansas City," she said "That’s just the closest NFL team - my dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up.
"People think I’m like a bandwagon Chiefs fan, I’m like, ‘No, I was there before Patrick (Mahomes) and Travis.’ We were ride or dies, so we’ve been big fans," she continued expressing her love for the Kasnas team during the January 2 episode of the podcast.
Caitlin Clark's loyalty was on full display during the Chiefs' win over the Texans as she celebrated the win vigorously with Travis Kelce's girlfriend Taylor Swift.
