WNBA fans react to Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark's blocks stats this season

Another chapter was added to the heated Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark rivalry on Sunday, June 16 as the Chicago Sky took on the Indiana Fever. This was the second meeting between the two teams in the 2024 season.

Clark showed off her defensive chops in this game by tallying two rejections. This resulted in one fan pointing out that Clark had more blocks this game compared to Reese's total for the entire season so far, which is one.

Another notable stat in this clash between the Fever and the Sky was Reese being called for a flagrant foul while trying to contest a Caitlin Clark layup. It was something that fans used to clown Reese under the comments section of this post.

"What's the Angel Reese head smack count tho?" Asked @SparksterHawks.
"Bulls**t i saw Reese block the shit out of CC head today," @Flac0187 pointed out jokingly.
"Thankfully the internet is a sane place and there will be no overreaction to Angel Reese hitting Caitlin in the head," @DavidEickholt said in an ironic tone.

Meanwhile, some fans simply focused on taking potshots at Reese for various reasons.

"Heard Angel Reese could defend," @TCENTRAL9 posted.
"But Angel can slap someone in the head? She is a victim 24/7," @CrashDavis8 said.
"Angel Reese layups today: 3-12, Caitlin Clark 3s today: 3-7," @aholl45 pointed out.

Caitlin Clark's per-game average makes her look like a better shot blocker compared to Angel Reese

Since coming into the WNBA, Clark has blocked a total of 13 shot attempts. Meanwhile, Reese has one. Reese's only block came against the New York Liberty on June 4.

Clark's career-high in blocks currently sits at three. A feat which she accomplished when the Fever took on the LA Sparks on May 28.

On the flipside, Reese has been better at forcing turnovers. So far, she has 22 steals this season compared to Clark's 19.

Reese's career-high so far is at five. Something that she has already done twice this season. The first being against the New York Liberty on June 4, and then once more against the Washington Mystics just a game later on June 6.

Reese has also displayed her rebounding prowess as she has already registered seven double-doubles this season. Even more impressive is the fact that she is currently on a six-game streak wherein she has recorded double-figure rebounds and points.

In her first 12 games, she has averaged 12.2 points and 10.0 rebounds. In total, she has already scored over 150 points and grabbed over 130 rebounds.

Both Reese and Clark continue to have noteworthy accomplishments in their rookie season, setting up a rivalry that could dominate the WNBA for many seasons.
