Caitlin Clark reportedly didn’t want to play basketball in the offseason to get some much-needed rest. She has spent her offseason interacting with fans, playing pro-am golf and cheering for the Indiana Pacers or her boyfriend Connor McCaffery’s Butler Bulldogs. McCaffery is an assistant coach on the team.
The Indiana Fever star, with her parents and brothers, watched the McCaffery’s team eke out a 71-69 win over Northwestern last Thursday.
On Tuesday, Clark was back cheering for McCaffery and the Bulldogs versus Eastern Illinois at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indiana. Fans promptly reacted to the WNBA All-Star’s presence:
“How many home games does this team have”
One fan said:
“She’s very supportive. It’s very cool. I’m actually glad tv didn’t say she was there. She probably just wants to blend in.”
Another fan reacted:
“Aww she’s alone :/”
@BuffyisHer commented:
“Bro she’s studying the game hardcore”
@kaisersolos added:
Locked tf in
@DawgsBU continued:
“Jesus dude! Stop taking pics of Caitlin! You’re gonna drive her away. Let her have a place to relax.”
Caitlin Clark doesn't go to just home games to watch her boyfriend Connor McCaffery and the Bulldogs. In the win against Northwestern, she and her family traveled to Tempe, Arizona, to cheer for Butler. It remains to be seen if she will go to Houston for the Bulldogs’ matchup against the No. 17 Cougars.
Patrick McCaffery, Connor McCaffery’s brother, shoots the lights out with Caitlin Clark watching
Caitlin Clark isn’t just cheering for her boyfriend Connor McCaffery. She is also rooting for his younger brother, Patrick, the Butler Bulldogs’ resident shooter.
Against Eastern Illinois, the sharpshooter put up an impressive performance in front of fans and the WNBA Rookie of the Year winner. He had three 3-pointers in the first half. He hit the last one with 13 seconds in the half left to give the Bulldogs a 36-27 lead.
Patrick McCaffery added two more threes in the second half as Butler went on to win 73-58 and improved to 7-1 on the season. McCaffery led the team with 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting (5-of-8 on 3-pointers) with seven rebounds.
