Angel Reese made history on Thursday by becoming the first WNBA player to feature on Vogue Magazine's cover for their winter edition. She announced this significant milestone with a short message on Instagram:
"COVERGIRL. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN BOTH: BASKETBALL AND FASHION," Angel wrote.
The former LSU star was congratulated by fans and stars alike, including WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes. Commenting on Angel's post on Instagram, the three-time WNBA MVP shared a two-word reaction:
"LET'S GO!!!🔥🔥🔥," she wrote.
Reese shared three different images from her Vogue photoshoot, with the cover featuring her in a red slit dress. The Sky Forward strikes a powerful pose, exuding both strength and elegance.
In the other images, Angel is seen wearing a one-piece dress with a flowing robe, smiling euphorically. The third and final image shows her in a brown trench coat, glaring confidently into the camera.
New home for Angel Reese's newest undertaking revealed
The new 3x3 women's league 'Unrivaled' is set to start on Jan. 17, with six teams taking part in the inaugural season. Angel Reese will be part of this exciting tournament, teaming up with Chelsea Gray, Brittney Sykes, Kahleah Copper, Azura Stevens, and Lexie Hull for the Rose Basketball Club.
Initiated by WNBA stars Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, the tournament will be played in Miami at a custom-designed facility. The venue, measuring 130,000 square feet, is located seven miles from Miami International Airport.
According to Talksport, the construction of this project is estimated at around $35 million. The facility, which was formerly an unused parking lot, was transformed into an arena for the league in under six weeks. Despite the tight timeline, the facility boasts many amenities, as shown in behind-the-scenes footage.
The site features a dressing room for each of the six teams, a weight facility and a glam room designed by Sephora. The venue has a capacity of 850 seats, with every seat effectively being a courtside seat in this unique facility.
