The TCU Horned Frogs women's basketball team is off to one of the best starts in school history, extending their record to 9-0 on Wednesday night. TCU's fast start can be credited to the dominant performances of Sedona Prince and Hailey Van Lith.
Prior to TCU's win on Wednesday night, WNBA legend Sue Bird gave a shout-out to the Horned Frogs and their two stars as one of the biggest storylines in college basketball.
"The other surprise is TCU. Starting unranked, they go, and they beat NC State and then they also just beat Notre Dame. You've got a Hailey Van Lith resurgence, a Sedona Prince resurgence, which takes me into the stars of the week that I've seen. I think those two have really led the way," she said on "A Touch More" podcast (20:58 mark).
Hailey Van Lith is re-remerging as one of the biggest stars in college basketball after a quiet season at LSU following back-to-back All-ACC first-team selections at Louisville. Last season, Van Lith averaged career lows in points, rebounds and field goal percentage, but has bounced back with her new team.
In nine games this season, Van Lith is averaging career-highs in points, assists, rebounds, steals, blocks and field goal percentage, posting 19.9 points, 7.1 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game. Sedona Prince is more than doing her share, averaging 20.1 ppg, 11.4 rpg and 4.3 bpg, which leads the country.

On Wednesday night, TCU hosted the Florida Atlantic Owls in their ninth contest of the season. The Horned Frogs kept their win streak alive, with Van Lith and Prince leading the way to the latest victory in their 9-0 start.
Sedona Prince got things going early, scoring six of TCU's first nine points of the game. Hailey Van Lith got involved a few possessions later, getting to the basket for an easy layup, followed by a 3-pointer to open her night with two straight baskets.
In the 78-42 win, the duo of Prince and Van Lith combined for 30 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and six blocks. Van Lith scored a game-high 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting, adding five rebounds and two assists, while Prince added 14 points, six rebounds, five blocks and three assists.
Behind the efforts of Van Lith and Prince, the Horned Frogs entered Wednesday's matchup as the No. 9 team in the country after starting the season outside of the AP Top 25.
