Phoenix Mercury veteran Natasha Cloud had some things to say about Republican party presidential candidate Donald Trump ahead of the much-awaited election day. Just like several other basketball players, Cloud isn't fond of the former U.S. President and made her thoughts clear about the so-called 'patriots' backing Trump to return to office.
Cloud took to X on Saturday morning to express her feelings on 'unfit' Trump, saying he 'threatens' the country's democracy.
"You cannot call yourself a “patriot” supporting a candidate that threatens our very democracy. I don’t think we truly understand the severity of the Supreme Court ruling of presidential immunity and what that would mean for an unfit Donald Trump. Unfit was me being nice," she tweeted.
Cloud added another message, saying that the United States should be above any name.
"It’s America & our democracy before any party or candidate….," she wrote.
Several basketball players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry and even coaches and executives such as Steve Kerr and Mark Cuban have expressed their support for Harris. As for Trump, Orlando Magic veteran Jonathan Isaac has even defended the former president on social media. The NFL seemingly has more Trump supporters than the NBA, and they've also made their voices heard.
This isn't the first time Natasha Cloud has shared her thoughts on a sensitive topic on social media, but the last time she did, she made quite a stir.
WNBA fans blasted Natasha Cloud over 'safe space' remarks about the league
At the start of October, Natasha Cloud also touched on a serious topic. That time, she urged new WNBA fans to keep the negativity out of the league since the competition was a 'safe place' for players since its inception.
"Our league is beautiful, unique, diverse, powerful, entertaining, and full of badass talented women. However, you can take all that hateful s**t elsewhere," Cloud wrote in her tweet.
Fans disagreed with that notion and brought receipts of several players, including Candice Wiggins, Sabrina Ionescu and Dearica Hamby's situations with the league, former teams and journalists. Now, a couple of days before a big day, she offered her two cents on the same.
