Caitlin Clark has established herself as a premier star in the WNBA. She had an excellent rookie season where she won the Rookie of the Year award, led the league in assists and secured a playoff spot for the Indiana Fever for the first time since 2016.

Clark has gained the attention of fans and players of the league and ESPN's Melissa Tamez believes that the Fever could benefit from her presence to draw some big-name free agents during this offseason. In an article published on Friday, Tamez explored the WNBA free agency landscape and shared her thoughts about it.

She listed the Fever as the top team to benefit due to having Clark on their roster.

"The Indiana Fever have the most upside in free agency," Tamez wrote. "I'm curious to see what kind of a draw playing with Clark is for free agents. With the right addition, Indiana can bolster its chances of winning a playoff series for the first time since reaching the Finals in 2015."

The insider also highlighted that Clark and Aliyah Boston are on their rookie contracts which gives the team the financial freedom to acquire a max or supermax player before the new season starts.

Caitlin Clark's teammate shares Indiana Fever's goal for upcoming WNBA season

In an interview with Winsidr on Thursday, Caitlin Clark's teammate Lexie Hull talked about the goal of the Fever after having a great run last season.

"Getting (to the playoffs) was great, but getting there and winning is the goal," Hull said.

The Indiana Fever turned their fortunes around after they selected Clark as the first pick of the 2024 WNBA draft. Before Clark, the Fever were a struggling team, fighting to not end up at the bottom of the standings.

After missing the playoffs in seven consecutive years, they found their rhythm with the Rookie of the Year at the center of it. She averaged 19.2 points, on 41.7% shooting, including 34.4% from beyond the arc, along with 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.

Fans can expect Clark to do even better next season as she is getting more rest than other WNBA stars. Some of them have decided to travel overseas or participate in the 3x3 basketball league Unrivaled but Clark will make the most of the offseason to rest.
