After winning back-to-back WNBA titles, the Las Vegas Aces came up short in their quest for a three-peat this past season. They could now be poised to lose two key players, Alysha Clark and Tiffany Haye.

Both Aces players will be unrestricted free agents when the WNBA's free agency period begins on Saturday. ESPN's WNBA insider Kevin Pelton believes they could have a similar impact to what Allana Smith and Courtney Williams had on the Lynx this past season following last year's free agency,

Last offseason, the Lynx signed Smith and Williams in notable moves that didn't necessarily break the internet but significantly bolstered their roster. The result was that the team made a run all the way to the WNBA Finals, where they battled it out with the New York Liberty.

Now, Pelton believes that fans could potentially see another scenario with Clark and Hayes:

"Keep an eye on unrestricted free agents who could amplify star talent in a similar fashion, including ... the Aces' duo of Alysha Clark and Tiffany Hayes."

Of course, there's no guarantee that Clark and Hayes wind up signing with the same team heading into the 2025 season.

With the new year underway, anticipation for the WNBA free agency period is at an all-time high. Beginning on Saturday, teams will be able to make qualifying offers, with free agency officially starting after the end of the qualifying offer period on Jan. 20.

While there's been no word on where Clark and Hayes may end up, both players have proven to be difference-makers with the Aces.

Clark, a three-time champion who won Sixth Player of the Year honors with Vegas in 2023, is fresh off a season where she averaged 6.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game on 44.3% from the field, with season averages nearly identical to 2023.

Hayes, on the other hand, wound up winning Sixth Player of the Year last season, averaging 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game on 50.0% shooting (40.2% from downtown).

While both players are in the twilight years of their respective careers, it's clear that both can impact winning at the highest level. Given that, only time will tell where the two land between now and the start of the 2025 season.
