Las Vegas Aces could shock the WNBA with a surprising move regarding star Kelsey Plum. The veteran guard helped the team win the 2022 and 2023 championships, but after failing to secure a third straight title, they might be making some changes to have a better chance at the championship next season.

According to Robin Lundberg, Plum could be on the move soon. The veteran point guard is one of the best players in his position and adding her should be an appealing option for several WNBA squads.

"Kelsey Plum being on the move seems very possible via speculation from many reputable reporters."

Kelsey Plum was drafted by the then-San Antonio Stars in 2017 and stayed with the team during its name change to the Las Vegas Aces in 2018. In eight seasons in the WNBA, Plum has won two WNBA championships and has been named an All-Star in the last three seasons, even winning the MVP of the All-Star Game in 2022.

It seems like her tenure at Michelob ULTRA Arena ended after their second-round elimination to the eventual champions New York Liberty. Once their season was over, Becky Hammon shared a message in which she hinted that some changes would be coming to the roster.

"It's not going to be the same group probably next year, it just won't. And I'm sad about that because I really liked that group. They were a pain in my a** but I was a pain in their a** too, and I like that group. I love that group," Hammon said.

In 235 career games, she's averaged 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 43.2% from the field, including 39.0% from deep and 88.2% from the free-throw line.

WNBA reporter suggests two potential landing spots for Kelsey Plum

WNBA insider Annie Costabile of the Chicago Sun-Times said in a Jan. 4 article that the West Coast made the most sense for Kelsey Plum. She thinks that the Seattle Storm could land Plum in a sign-and-trade scenario that would send Jewell Lloyd to Las Vegas.

Costabile added that Los Angeles could also be appealing to Plum, despite the difference in quality between the Aces and the Sparks. That said, Annie thinks that Plum could be the catalyst of a potential turnaround for the Sparks, who will have Cameron Brink back on the court and the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA draft.
