The 5-foot-11 point guard, Sabrina Ionescu plays for the New York Liberty. Three-time WNBA All-Star, Ionescu is known for her terrific three-point shooting. At the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend, Ionescu even competed against Curry in the 3-Point Contest, scoring 26 points to his 29. In 2023, Ionescu set a WNBA record with 37 points in a Three-Point Contest, making 25 of her last 27 shots. Over five WNBA seasons, she has attempted 1,042 threes, making 379. In 2022, Sabrina Ionescu became the first player in WNBA history to record a 30-point triple-double, with 31 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Ionescu led the New York Liberty to the WNBA Finals in 2023 and 2024, winning the championship in 2024. During the playoffs, she averaged 16.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists, shooting 40.9% from the field and 36.3% from three. In Game 3 of the 2024 WNBA Finals, Ionescu hit the game-winning buzzer-beater three-pointer against Minnesota Lynx to give the Liberty a 2–1 series lead. In 2025, she joined Unrivaled, a new 3x3 basketball league, playing for Phantom BC.

Sabrina Ionescu had an extraordinary college basketball career at Oregon. As a freshman, she averaged 14.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game. She ranked second on her team in scoring and rebounding and led in assists. Ionescu posted seven double-doubles, ranked third in the Pac-12, and recorded 183 assists, the 29th most in the NCAA that season. Her assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.93-to-1 was second-best in the Pac-12. She earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and USBWA National Freshman of the Year honors. She was a unanimous First Team All-Pac-12 and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team selection.

In her sophomore year, Ionescu led Oregon to its first-ever No. 1 seed in the Pac-12 Women’s Tournament. She averaged 19.7 points and 7.8 assists per game, leading the Pac-12 in both categories. She recorded 16 double-doubles and 14 games with 20 or more points. Ionescu was named Pac-12 Player of the Year and a First-Team All-American by ESPN.

As a junior, Ionescu won the Wade Trophy and Wooden Award as the nation’s top player. She averaged 19.9 points and 8.2 assists per game. In her senior year, she swept all major Player of the Year awards and finished her career at Oregon with remarkable achievements.

Ionescu set Pac-12 records for career assists (1,091) and led Oregon in career points, assists, three-point field goals (329), and double-figure scoring games (134). She ranked second in Oregon history in free-throw percentage (85.1) and field goals made (905). Ionescu recorded 58 career double-doubles, 46 double-digit assist games, and 40 double-digit rebound games. She is a two-time Pac-12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player and holds tournament records for points, assists, and field goals. Her career includes 48 games with 20 or more points and five games with 30 or more points.
