Samantha Allison Whitcomb was born on July 20, 1988, in Ventura, California, U.S. She is an American-Australian professional basketball player and, as of September 2024, she plays for the Seattle Storm. Whitcomb signed a training camp deal with the Chicago Sky on April 25, 2010. During the 2021-2022 seasons, she also played for the New York Liberty. In February 2018, she became a naturalized Australian citizen.

As of September 13, 2024, Sami Whitcomb has played 260 games in the WNBA, scoring 1,800 points, grabbing 598 rebounds, and providing 503 assists. She attended the University of Washington, where she played for the Washington Huskies women's basketball team and led her team in scoring, rebounding, and assists during her senior year, according to her college profile.

Sami Whitcomb has played for the Australian women's basketball team, the Opals, at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, winning a bronze medal. She scored 78 points, grabbed 21 rebounds, and provided 32 assists in the championship. She also won a silver medal and a bronze medal at the 2018 and 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cups in Spain and Australia, respectively. Additionally, Whitcomb secured a bronze medal at the 2021 FIBA Women's Asia Cup in Jordan. In the 2022 FIBA Women's World Cup, she scored 88 points, collected 18 rebounds, and recorded 29 assists.

Sami Whitcomb is a two-time WNBA champion, winning titles in 2018 and 2020. She also won the SBL Championship in 2014 and 2015 and was the SBL Scoring Champion in 2013, 2014, and 2015. She was selected to the All-WNBL First Team from 2016 to 2018 and again in 2023 and to the All-Pac-10 Team in 2010. She was in the All-WNBL Second Team in 2024. In 2017, she was honored with the WNBL Top Shooter Award.
