Stephanie Joanne White (formerly Stephanie White-McCarty) is a former famous basketball player and coach. White started her playing career at Purdue University where she played for the university’s women's basketball team, which she led to an NCAA Women’s National Championship in 1999, among other achievements, she was awarded the Wade Trophy and Big Ten Player of the Year. She was selected by the Charlotte Sting during the 1999 WNBA Draft and later played for the Indiana Fever for most of her career. White retired from playing in 2004 and moved to a coaching assistant role at different institutions before joining Indiana Fever as the head coach in 2015.
In 2016, White became the head coach for the Vanderbilt Commodores women’s basketball team up to 2021. In November 2022, White was hired to be the head coach of the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA, which added her skills and love for the sport to the team.
