Top 5 records Caitlin Clark scripted with historic double-double performance in Fever's loss vs. Wings

Indiana Fever v Dallas Wings
Caitlin Clark recorded 19 assists in Indiana Fever's game against the Dallas Wings on Wednesday

Caitlin Clark delighted hoops fans on Wednesday with a sizzling performance despite Indiana Fever's 101-93 loss against the Dallas Wings at College Park Center. Playing on the road, Clark registered a huge double-double night and only fell short of a 20-point, 20-assist game by one assist.

Clark exploded for 24 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the field. The rookie struggled from downtown as she only swished two of her nine attempts from 3-point range.

Perhaps the most eye-catching aspect of Clark's performance though was her nifty handles and unrivaled court vision. The former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar dished out 19 assists and created numerous highlight moments with her silky plays:

"I mean, I just try to set my teammates up for success," Clark told reporters after dishing out 19 dimes.
"I think at times, I can almost overpass, and that can maybe, I don't know. There probably could have been a few times where instead of passing that leads to turnovers that I may have, I could probably shoot the ball," she added.

During the game, Clark broke multiple records and scripted new milestones. Here's a closer look at five records that Caitlin Clark set during her big outing against the Wings.

Top 5 records Caitlin Clark scripted vs. Dallas Wings

#1. Most single-game assists

Caitlin Clark overhauled Courtney Vandersloot's four-year-old record with 19 assists against the Dallas Wings. That is now the most dimes ever recorded in a game by a WNBA player in league history.

On Aug. 31, 2020, Vandersloot recorded 18 assists while playing for the Chicago Sky.

#2. 1st player with 20-point, 15-rebound and five-rebound game

The Indiana Fever rookie also became the first player in league history to record a staggering stat line of at least 20 points, 15 points and five rebounds in a game.

#3. Fastest to 400 points + 200 assists mark

By reaching the mark of 400 points and 200 assists in just her 26th game, Caitlin Clark became the quickest player to do so. Earlier, the record rested with the legendary Sue Bird, who took 33 games to reach the mark.

#4. Highest assists per game in a month

The WNBA regular season fixtures scheduled to be played in July came to a close on Wednesday. The All-Star Game will be held next Sunday before the lengthy Olympics break.

Clark averaged 12.5 assists per game in July, which is the highest assists per game recorded by a player in any month.

#5. 3rd most 15-point, 10-assist games

Clark now has a record six games with at least 15 points and 10 assists this season. Only Courtney Vandersloot and Alyssa Thomas have recorded more such games in the WNBA regular season. Vandersloot had eight 15-point, 10-assist last year while Thomas had seven such games in the same season.

With 14 more games remaining for the Fever this season, Clark is likely to secure the top spot in this exclusive list as well.
