Christie Sides is the latest coach in the WNBA to be relieved of her duties after two seasons with the Indiana Fever. Under Sides, the Fever secured the sixth seed this past season and made the playoffs for the first time since 2016. However, the Fever announced that they had parted ways with her shortly after the end of the season.

Let's take a look at five coaches the Fever could target before the start of next season.

5 WNBA coaches Indiana Fever can sign after parting ways with Christie Sides

#1. Teresa Weatherspoon

The Chicago Sky fired Teresa Weatherspoon on Sept. 26 after just one season. Weatherspoon helped players like Chennedy Carter and Angel Reese develop their games. However, an injury to Reese, along with poor performances in their last five games, led to the Sky missing out on a spot in the playoffs.

The Indiana Fever could give Weatherspoon another chance to prove her abilities with a young squad.

#2. Latricia Trammell

Former Dallas Wings coach Latricia Trammell is another option to replace Christie Sides and take over the Caitlin Clark-led squad next season. Trammell stayed with the Dallas Wings for two seasons, and under her guidance, the team finished the 2023 season with a 22-18 record and made it to the semifinals.

However, the Wings had a disastrous performance in the 2024 season. They finished with a 9-31 record and Trammell was relieved of her duties. The Indiana Fever could hire Trammell to work her magic, just like she did during her first season with Dallas.

#3. Tanisha Wright

During her three-season stay with the Atlanta Dream, Tanisha Wright led them to the playoffs twice. Although the Dream barely made the playoffs this past season with a 15-25 record, it doesn't take away from Wright's strategic brilliance.

Wright knows the formula to make it to the playoffs, and with Clark, she could lead the Fever to a deep run.

#4. Curt Miller

The 2017 WNBA Coach of the Year and the LA Sparks mutually agreed to part ways on Sept. 24 after a forgettable season. The Sparks ended at the bottom of the standings with an 8-32 record.

However, Miller, who has a great legacy in the WNBA, lost a number of players to injury. The most notable among them was Cameron Brink, who suffered a torn ACL in June.

Given his experience, the Indiana Fever could go with Miller next season.

#5. Stephanie White

Former Connecticut Sun coach Stephanie White is seen as the prime candidate to replace Christie Sides. White has a deep connection with the Fever as she played for the franchise and was an assistant coach for three years.

Moreover, she has a good coaching record with the Sun, the team that eliminated the Fever in the first round of this year's playoffs. Under her guidance, the Sun finished with a 28-12 record and reached the semifinals.
