The 2024 WNBA playoffs tip off with the Atlanta Dream facing the New York Liberty on Sept. 22 for Game 1 of their first-round series. The Liberty will host the Dream at Barclays Center in New York for the game, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.

The Dream and the Liberty previously faced each other on Thursday to conclude their 2024 regular season. The game concluded with the Dream securing a 78-67 win to secure the final spot in the playoffs and avoid a sweep from the Liberty with a 3-1 record in their regular season series.
Tina Charles led Atlanta's victory charge in the game with her double-double performance of 10 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and one block. On the other hand, Jonquel Jones led the losing effort with 10 rebounds, seven points, three assists, one steal and three blocks for New York.
The Liberty clinched the first seed in the season for the first time since 2015. They concluded the season with a 32-8 record, winning seven of their last 10 outings.
Meanwhile, the Dream clinched the eighth seed with a 15-25 record. Their three-game winning streak to conclude the regular season allowed them to secure their playoff berth following tight contention for the spot with the Chicago Sky and the Washington Mystics.
Atlanta and New York have only faced each other once before in the WNBA playoffs with the Dream sweeping the Liberty 2-0 in the 2010 WNBA conference finals.

Coach Tanisha Wright will likely deploy a starting lineup of Allisha Gray (G), Jordin Canada (G), Rhyne Howard (F), Naz Hillmon (F), and Tina Charles (C).
