The New York Liberty became the first team to clinch a playoff berth after the 2024 WNBA season hit restart. The Eastern Conference powerhouse punched the postseason ticket with a 79-67 win over two-time defending champions Las Vegas Aces last Saturday. While Liberty has 13 games left this regular season, their best start in franchise history saw them coast to the next stage.

This keeps New York in the top position in our weekly power rankings. With teams playing just one game upon return from the 2024 Paris Olympics break, the top five teams from our Week 10 list continue to hold on to a spot. On that note, here's a look at the latest WNBA Power Rankings.

WNBA Power Rankings: Top 5 teams ft. New York Liberty (Week 11)

#5. Seattle Storm | Position: 5

Last game result: Lost to Indiana Fever

The Seattle Storm opened their season restart with a drama-filled loss to the Indiana Fever. Caitlin Clark's record game ensured there were enough headlines to spill over for an extended day. While Storm's defense continues to remain excellent, their sputtering offense saw the Fever blow them out 92-75.

The loss doesn't see them slip the standings rung yet, but they will have to bounce back as the playoff race tightens.

#4. Las Vegas Aces | Position: 4

Last game result: Won against LA Sparks

The Las Vegas Aces struggled against a potent New York Liberty unit but ensured the slip-up was an aberration with an 87-71 win over the LA Sparks at home. The Aces are 17-9 and are one of the teams poised to make the postseason.

Much of their title aspirations hinge on MVP candidate A'ja Wilson and the seasoned trio of Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young. Las Vegas gears up for a tough test against the Minnesota Lynx in their next two games, and wins will see them inch closer to a playoff spot.

#3. Minnesota Lynx | Positon: 3

Last game result: Won against the Washington Mystics

The Minnesota Lynx continue to be a stellar side this season, opening their campaign with two wins over the Mystics. Their defense is one of the top five this season and has been the bedrock of their successful campaign so far.

They play the Aces next in a game that pits them against a potential playoff contender, and it's interesting to see if they can keep their winning streak up.

#2. Connecticut Sun | Position: 2

Last game result: Won against Atlanta Dream

Like the Lynx, the Connecticut Sun have won both their games played so far, and have made a case to make the playoffs. They share the same number of wins as Minnesota (19) but have lost a game less, putting them in second place with a 19-7 record.

Their overall offense and defensive ratings show that the team has the firepower to win against any side. The question for the Sun is consistency. Can they capitalize on their strong start for the remainder of the season?

#1. New York Liberty | Position: 1

Last game result: Won against Las Vegas Aces

Clincal at best, the New York Liberty have done half the job. They have a potent offense and an even better defense to ensure the two-way play translates to winning basketball. They picked up from where they left with a dominant win over Las Vegas in what many termed as a finals rematch.

With two wins so far, The New York Liberty will look to finish top seed after making the postseason with their 23-4 brilliant run.
