The VCT Americas League is on its final day of the Regular Season. Multiple teams have already secured their spot in the Playoffs. The top two spots have been taken by LOUD and Cloud9, which means they can skip a match. Stage 1 will conclude with a match between NA's 100 Thieves and Brazil's MIBR.
Week 8 Day 2 presented two matchups. The first was between KRÜ Esports and Cloud9. The former was out of the running for the Playoff stage but put up a good fight against Cloud9. Despite winning the second map, Ascent, KRÜ eventually lost the BO3 (Best of Three) series by 1-2.
The second matchup, between LOUD and Leviatán, was a quick one. The former bounced back from their loss against NRG Esports last week and won the BO3 series by 2-0. They won Haven by 13-7 and Ascent by 13-5, which put them at the top of the table.
100 Thieves vs MIBR - Who will close out the Regular Season with a win in VCT Americas League?
Predictions
100 Thieves started out as one of the favourites in the VCT Americas League, but the team has had their fair share of ups and downs during the Regular Season. They are sharp and efficient on some days but sloppy on the others. Due to their struggle with inconsistency, they have won four out of eight matches in the league so far.
MIBR, on the other hand, has had a tough 2023. They were eliminated in the first match of VCT LOCK//IN against Talon Esports, and the Brazilian squad has been struggling to find form in the VCT Americas League as well. They have won two out of eight matches so far.
The matchup favors 100 Thieves as they have been performing comparatively better. Unfortunately, winning the match won't help MIBR as they're already out of the running for the Playoffs stage.
