Valorant's 2024 season may end up being one of the most exciting ones in its esports scene yet. Year 2 of franchising in VCT will see a bunch of new additions. Firstly, three new teams will join the Pacific, EMEA, and Americas League after winning their respective Ascension events. On top of this, China will have its own franchised league, which will see 10 partnered teams plus one from Ascension competing directly for the VCT international event's slot.

Due to these factors, there have been many roster changes for the 2024 season. They have in turn resulted in creating some very strong-looking teams, many of whom have a good amount of chances to take home the VCT trophies. Below is a list of five Valorant teams to look out for in 2024.

The Valorant teams to look out for in 2024

1) G2 Esports

G2 Esports is an organization that started out competing in the EMEA region, but shifted to the Americas since the franchised leagues. In 2023, G2 did not make it to franchising, and hence decided to compete through the NA Challengers League. Despite a good lineup, they had an underwhelming performance and were unable to qualify for the Ascension event.

During this, The Guard's roster was able to win the Americas Ascension and secure their franchise spot. However, due to some conflicts, the entire lineup ended up with no organization to back the team up. This is when G2 Esports came into play as they took the Ascension winners under their wing and secured their spot.

G2's current Valorant squad consists of four players and the coach from The Guard as well as leaf from Cloud9. This is a very strong team. It is filled with synergy and will most likely create many upsets heading into the Americas League.

2) DRX

DRX competes in the Pacific region. The organization got into the franchised league easily and has been one of the strongest teams in the Pacific region. They had a decent performance last year as they were able to qualify for every international VCT event and were able to secure a top six finish in all of those.

However, these results weren't satisfying and the team decided to make some major changes. The long-standing players, Rb and Zest, were let go from the roster while making room for their previous sixth man, Foxy9, and DRX Prospects player, Flashback.

This was interesting as the team had not made a change in their roster for a long time. Putting two young players on the main lineup may just be the change they needed.

3) NRG Esports

NRG Esports competes within the Americas region. Like DRX, they were also able to make their way to franchised league with no issues. In 2023, NRG formed a strong team and made it to every international event. They showed great performance in the first two events, but fell short of qualifying for the Playoffs during Valorant Champions 2023.

This led to a major revamp of the roster as OpTic Gaming's Marved along with the current World Champions, Ethan and Demon1, were recruited. NRG Esports has one of the scariest looking rosters in the entirety of the Americas League. The team is filled with very experienced professionals who certainly have the potential to win it all.

4) NAVI

NAVI competes in the EMEA region and has been a part of the VCT franchised system since its start. The squad was one of the top EMEA teams in 2023 and even qualified for all the international events. However, apart from Valorant's LOCK//IN, they had a very disappointing performance.

As such, they decided to make only one change, where they let go of their primary Duelist cNed to get ardiis from NRG. This is a huge change as now NAVI is essentially the very successful FPX (FunPlus Phoenix) squad that won VCT Masters Copenhagen in 2022.

However, the other lineups have gotten better significantly since then. So it will be interesting to see if the former FPX roster can live up to their previous performance.

5) BLEED

BLEED competes in the Pacific region and made their way to franchising through the Ascension event. This team was able to put up incredible performances throughout the year in the regional events and dominated their Ascension competition.

After securing the franchising spot in the Pacific League, they made one change that got everyone excited. BLEED recruited one of NA's finest Valorant players, yay, for their roster. With some of the best Pacific talent like sScary and Deryeon on the squad, yay's addition may just be what helps BLEED become the top team in their region. It will be exciting to watch this roster play during the 2024 season.
