VCT 2025 has officially concluded. The season ended with the Ascension event, which saw all the tier-two teams from across the globe compete for the singular franchise spot in the Pacific, China, EMEA, and Americas leagues.

The tier-two teams started the year by competing in their own respective Challengers Leagues. After competing in the league for several months, only a few teams made it to the big Ascension. Below is the list of the five teams that won Ascension and qualified for VCT 2025.

The Ascension teams that made it to franchising for VCT 2025

2Game Esports is a Brazilian team that competes in the Americas region. They started their journey by playing in the Gamers Club Challengers League 2024. 2Game Esports performed strongly throughout the league but were only able to finish in 3rd place in both Split 1 and Split 2.

However, the team had earned enough points to qualify for the Americas Ascension 2024 automatically. Here, 2Game Esports had a rough time as they began with three losses in the Group Stage. However, things changed in the Playoffs as they annihilated their competition. They were able to defeat M80 in a close Grand Finals to secure their spot in the VCT Americas League for the 2025 Season.

2) Apeks

Apeks competes in the EMEA region and has been one of the strongest teams in the tier two scene. They started the 2025 season by competing in the Challengers League 2024 North: Polaris. Apeks managed to end up in first place in both Splits and comfortably made it to the EMEA Ascension.

At this event, Apeks dominated every team they faced. With only a single series loss, the team was finally able to get the win they were denied in 2023's Ascension. This win will also see the return of the players, soulcas, MOLSI AvovA back to the tier one league.

3) Xi Lai Gaming

Xi Lai Gaming competes in the Chinese region of Valorant esports. The team was a slightly unknown entity when they started competing in the 2024 season. Xi Lai Gaming was quickly able to establish themselves after winning the VALORANT China National Competition: Season 2 with ease.

In Ascension China 2024, the team ended up losing their second match of the Group Stage. However, the team was able to bounce back and regain their form. In the Grand Finals, they took down the tournament favorites Rare Atom with a clean 3-0 to secure their VCT China League 2025 spot.

4) Sin Prisa Gaming

Sin Prisa Gaming is a Korean team that competes in the Pacific region of Valorant esports. The team kickstarted their campaign with a very disappointing performance in Split 1 of the Challengers League as they lost the Grand Final of the Open qualifier event. However, Split 2 saw the team improve significantly, as they didn't lose a single match throughout the event.

They had a similar run at Ascension Pacific, completely dominating other teams. Sin Prisa Gaming had only lost a total of two maps in the entire series, with both against BOOM Esports in the Grand Finals. Since the players on this team have shown incredible talent, it will be interesting to see how they stack up against other teams in the VCT Pacific League in 2025.

5) BOOM Esports

BOOM Esports competed in the Pacific region of Valorant. The organization has been involved in the game's esports for quite a while and has even played at an international event, Valorant Champions 2022.

In 2024, BOOM Esports achieved second and first-place finishes in Split 1 and Split 2 of their respective Challengers League. This allowed them to qualify for Pacific's Ascension, where they were easily one of the favorites. Unfortunately, the team was bested at the event's Grand Finals by Korea's Sin Prisa Gaming, which made them miss out on their franchise slot.

However, after Ascension, an unusual incident occurred. Riot Games announced that the already partnered team, BLEED Esports, had issues complying with critical reporting requirements and other key obligations. This led to BLEED being removed from VCT Pacific 2025 wherein the empty slot was given to the Ascension runner-up, BOOM Esports.
