Global Esports secured its first victory at VCT Pacific Stage 2 after defeating Bleed on June 23, 2024. In doing so, the Indian team has secured the 7th spot in the Pacific ladder, getting them closer to the playoffs. The top six teams combined from groups Alpha and Omega will advance to playoffs. The top three teams emerging from that stage will head towards Valorant Champions Seoul.
Global Esports had a difficult start at VCT Pacific Stage 2. The team ended up losing to Team Secret during its first matchup. However, its dominant 2-0 victory against Bleed has given it a fighting chance. On the other hand, Bleed faces the danger of being relegated from the Pacific League.
Global Esports secures 7th spot in rankings at VCT Pacific Stage 2
Global Esports overpowered Bleed by winning two maps back to back with a 13-6 scoreline. The decisive victory catapulted GE's rankings to number 7 in the VCT Pacific Stage 2 ladder while Bleed dropped to the 11th spot. This means that the Singaporean organization will no longer be able to compete for a spot in the playoffs.
Furthermore, an even greater danger looms over Bleed. The team needs to find a way to win enough matches to qualify for the end-of-season playoffs next year. This is because Bleed came to VCT Pacific Stage 2 by winning the Ascension leagues, thereby earning a spot among the partnered teams. If the organization fails to qualify next year, it will be relegated from the Pacific League.
For now, the team still has two more opponents to face - Gen.G and T1.
Global Esports, on the other hand, has a more optimistic future. The team is set to go against T1 on June 30, 2024. The Indian organization is already ranked above T1 and defeating them would give them an even greater boost in rankings.
Going into Week 4, GE will go up against Gen.G, the team that won Masters Shanghai. This is probably one of the most exciting matchups of the week and will take place on July 5, 2024. This matchup is vital because it could be the last chance for GE to make it to the top three in Group Alpha.
Currently, in Group Alpha, Team Secret and Gen.G are above GE in rankings. Team Secret has two wins and no losses while Gen.G has one win and one loss.
In Group Omega, Paper Rex is at the top of the leaderboard with two wins and no losses while DFM stands at number two with one win and one loss.
