Riot Games congratulates 9 Premier teams selected for VCT Challengers

VCT Challengers leagues are the first step for any Premier team to turn professional. As mentioned, the top two teams from each zone in the Contender division get the chance to make it to the Challengers League.

Riot Games took to its official X account to congratulate the following teams from three of the major regions around the world:

Americas

  • TP Reven
  • Sagaz
  • Blinn Espor

EMEA

  • Eternal Fire
  • Cicadas Gaming
  • Permitta Unicorns

APAC

  • Riddle Order
  • Sin Prisa Gaming
  • Alternate Realities

Both, the Americas and APAC happen to have five different zones while EMEA has seven. Each zone is connected to its own Challenger league. All of these teams will compete through their zone and leagues to go forward in the competition.

In the VCT Challenger leagues, these invited teams will battle against other teams that made it through the open qualifiers. Top teams then compete against others from the region in the Ascension league, the ones to finish on top there eventually get the chance to play on the international Valorant stage.

Currently, Challenger leagues are already ongoing in all three regions and began on different dates in May 2024. All of these leagues are set to end on different dates in July.

Finally, an Ascension League qualifier match is set to begin from July 2024 onwards.
