The first stage of Valorant Champions 2024 is nearing its end. The sixteen teams are currently trying their hardest in the Group Stage to secure the eight spots in the Playoffs. So far, a total of four teams have been eliminated from the competition.
Day 8 opened with a match between Pacific's number four seed, Talon Esports, and EMEA's number two seed, Team Vitality. The Bo3 (Best-of-three) was over quickly as Team Vitality dominated on both maps before closing the series by 2-0.
In the post-match conference, Sportskeeda Esports' Sneh Jadhav got the chance to talk to Talon Esports' Governor, during which he said:
"I need to be more consistent."
Talon Esports' Governor talks about his biggest takeaways from Valorant Champions 2024 and competing in franchising
Talon Esports were a surprise to many when they secured their spot as the number four seed at this champions event. The roster continued to surprise everyone as they put up a commendable effort against the heavy favorites from Americas, Leviatán. This performance quickly started to gain them the reputation of underdogs as champions.
Unfortunately, Talon Esports' second match against Team Vitality was not at the same level. The team ended up losing both maps in a way where it looked like Team Vitality never really had to give it their all.
In the press conference, Sportskeeda Esports approached Talon Esports' Governor to ask him about what his biggest takeaways were from the event and his first year of competing in franchising.
Here's what he said:
"My biggest takeaways are again probably I need to be more consistent. On top of that, I think I realized pretty quickly at the beginning of this season how much different LAN is, but it's a great experience. I think by now, I have definitely gotten the feel of it. Just gotta do better next year, I guess."
Due to this defeat, Talon Esports has been eliminated from the event. Meanwhile, Team Vitality's next match will be against Leviatán next for the Playoffs spot.
