Valorant players getting temporarily banned for having certain third-party trackers open while playing
As briefed earlier, a post on X discloses that Valorant players are getting temporarily suspended from the game for using selected third-party tracker apps while playing. Players can initially launch the game as usual, but after queuing into a match, they are getting banned. The game is then canceled and marked as "Cheater Detected" for the other players.
While it is uncertain what applications are causing this problem, some have said that it is likely caused by the apps that reveal the player’s name who has stream mode active, instalock agents, and do not have Riot Games’ approval to access the game’s API.
Riot Games has made it clear that they will be taking action against users who use apps that are not on their whitelist. Hence, these bans are just the beginning of that.
