Valorant Champions 2024 has finally commenced, with 16 teams from the four franchise leagues battling it out. They will first go through the Group Stage and then to the Playoffs. These stages will follow a double-elimination format. Currently, the first phase of the Group Stage is ongoing.

Day 3 opened with a match between Pacific's number-four seed Talon Esports and Americas' number-one seed Leviatán. Both teams truly gave it their best in this Bo3 (Best-of-three) series, but Leviatán secured a clean 2-0 win.

In the post-match conference, Sportskeeda Esports' Sneh Jadhav spoke with Talon Esports' in-game leader crws for his views.

"We didn't play to our potential at all"

Talon Esports' crws shares his disappointment after losing to Leviatán in their first match of Valorant Champions 2024

Talon Esports have shown some great performances throughout this year. The team has made it to the Playoffs in Stages 1 and 2. However, Stage 1 saw them get eliminated early on and miss out on Masters Shanghai. Stage 2 was quite different as the team retained their form with the rookie primmie on the roster. They destroyed Team Secret and earned enough points to qualify for Valorant Champions 2024.

In their first match of the event against Leviatán, Talon put up a commendable performance on Bind. Things looked very much in their favor, and the squad should've closed the map out. However, after much resilience, Leviatán clawed their way back in and secured the first map. Something similar happened on Ascent, which led to the 0-2 scoreline.

Considering how close the series was, Sportskeeda Esports asked Talon Esports' crws if there were any positive takeaways from the series against Leviatán. Here's what he had to say:

"I don't really see any positives. Like from my perspective, we didn't play to our potential at all so...Yeah that's just it. We made a lot of mistakes and if we just did what we should have done it would have been the other way. So I don't see any positives from the game we played."

After this defeat, Talon Esports' will go through the lower bracket of the Group Stage. Their next match will see them fight for their tournament lives against EMEA's Team Vitality.
