Valorant Champions 2024 is headed toward the end of the first stage. The 16 teams are currently competing in the Group Stage to secure their Playoffs spots. Only eight teams from here will be making their way to the next stage. So far, four teams have already secured their spots leaving only four more for the other teams.

Day 7 opened with a match between the Americas' number four seed, Sentinels, and China's number two seed, FunPlus Phoenix. The best-of-three (Bo3) got over rather quickly as Sentinels were able to win both maps in a dominant fashion, hence closing it out with a 2-0 scoreline.

In the post-match conference, Sportskeeda Esports got the chance to talk to Sentinels' TenZ, during which he said:

"We are playing more like ourselves"

Sentinels' TenZ talks about the team bouncing back after the loss to Gen.G in Valorant Champions 2024

Sentinels' Masters Madrid win made them one of the top teams at the start of 2024. However, ever since the trophy win, they have struggled to secure wins under their belt. Unfortunately, their first match at Valorant Champions 2024 also ended in a loss as Gen.G played their game perfectly.

That said, in their second match against FunPlus Phoenix (FPX), Sentinels seemed to bounce back from their defeat. The Bo3 series against FPX saw Sentinels mount a huge comeback on the first map, Bind, and then dominate them on the second map, Lotus. This top-tier performance has once again made them look like a formidable team.

Sportskeeda Esports approached Sentinels' TenZ to ask him about how helpful the week-long gap after their defeat against Gen.G was. Here's what he said:

"I think it allowed us to prepare a bit, see where we kinda messed up on the matches and try to regain our confidence back from scrims. I think moving forward it definitely feels like we are playing more like ourselves and that's a good sign. I think the first time we played against Gen.G was pretty sloppy and we weren't really playing up to the par that we can normally perform at."

Due to this win, Sentinels have progressed further in the lower bracket of the Group Stage in this event. Their next series will be a rematch against Gen.G for the Playoffs spot.
