Vyse is the newest Agent introduced to Valorant. Released on August 28, 2024, this Sentinel has some flashy abilities. In fact, the 9.04 patch notes suggested players start practicing their pistol abilities because she can force one to just use their secondary weapon at times. Overall, a rather aggressive Sentinel with interesting setups, she is bound to make the gameplay more interesting.
We elaborate on all of the abilities and introduce ways in which one can fully master Agent 26 in 2024.
All abilities of Vyse in Valorant
Arc Rose (E) — Free signature ability
Equip it with the ability key and then aim at a surface. Press fire to place it on a surface and alternate fire to place it through a surface. Once it is attached to the surface, reuse the ability key to blind all enemies in its range for 2.25 seconds. The ability can be picked up and redeployed.
Shear (Q) – 200 Credits
Place a wall trap by equipping this ability and firing it on the ground. When an enemy crosses it, an indestructible wall erects itself behind them for about 7.8 seconds.
Razorvine (C) – 100 Credits
Equip the ability and fire on the ground. It becomes an invisible vine and when activated, it sprawls out and slows and damages all players who try to cross it.
Steel Garden (X) – 8 ultimate orbs
Equip and fire to send down a bramble of liquid metal in a certain range. The ability jams every primary weapon of any enemy trapped in the range of the ultimate. This lasts for a total of eight seconds, during which enemies are forced to work with secondary and melee weapons.
How to use Vyse in Valorant
Vyse comes with a rather interesting new kit. She's meant to be one of the more aggressive Sentinels, much like Chamber in the past but that Agent has been nerfed to the extent where Vyse may be the new meta for aggression.
The Arc Rose goes through surfaces much like a Breach flash. So, you can place it behind a surface and trigger it instantly to flash people behind certain walls. This is a brilliant strategy for attack and defense. While attacking, place it through the main wall of, say, A Main Ascent and trigger it to flash opponents directly in sight. Your Duelists can then dash or jump into the site and take it quickly. Pair it up with Neon stuns and you can get free kills as long as the execution and timing are perfect.
During defensive halves, it’s best to pair up the Arc Rose with either the Shear or the Razorvine. Place the Shear right after the main entrance and it’ll trigger as soon as a Duelist enters the site leaving their team behind. Trigger the Arc Rose to blind the Duelist, and now you have a target to take down.
The Razorvine can also be triggered around the same time to slow down enemy movement. This requires a lot of micro, so choose your setup carefully. The Razorvine can have many interesting uses instead. Combine it with Viper’s Snakebite or Brimstone’s Molotov in Valorant to ensure frags for the team.
The Shear can also be used to watch flank effectively as it will trigger as soon as someone crosses giving your team the cue necessary to act on it. Practice timing and pacing with your setups. Hop into range and try different setups for all sites of a map.
Finally, the Steel Garden can be used aggressively. Unleash it on C Site on Lotus or B Site on Ascent to rob any Sentinel of their weapons. A Cypher becomes essentially powerless without their guns to shoot at the trapped opponents. With the weapon advantage, your team can secure more eliminations than before.
Where to use Vyse in Valorant
Vyse is a relatively new Agent in Valorant who can be effectively used on small to medium-sized maps such as Split, Icebox, Abyss, and perhaps even on Bind.
