Valorant is back with yet another skin collection, or at least a revamped version of an old one. The Magepunk collection is back with a new set of guns in its arsenal and a fresh melee weapon style. This comes after a slightly dry phase in terms of content for the game following the hype around the release of Episode 6 Act 3. The wait is finally over, and the brand new Magepunk 3.0 collection is soon coming to the store for all Valorant players.
Here's everything that is known about it so far.
When is the new Magepunk 3.0 skin collection coming to Valorant?
According to a tweet from the game's official account, the entire skin collection will go live on May 29, 2023. This date is approximately one week after Patch 6.10 drops on May 23, 2023.
Although it is generally seen that new collections drop alongside Patches, this time will be slightly different, most likely because of the schedule change caused by the developers skipping Patch 6.09. Furthermore, it would give the Run It Back collection more time to stay in the store.
What weapon skins will be part of the Magepunk 3.0 collection in Valorant?
As far as the news confirmed by Riot Games goes, this collection will feature the following weapon skins:
- Phantom
- Vandal
- Melee - Sparkswitch
The two weapons included in the Magepunk 3.0 collection are the most used guns in the game, making it quite the special collection. Coming to the melee, it has been called the Sparkswitch and looks like a scissor at first glance. However, it is most likely to resemble a butterfly knife.
The Magepunk collections so far have introduced gun skins for almost all the weapons. Considering this is the third iteration of the collection and one of the few not to feature skins for all guns, this is quite a smart move for the developers to bring out something small and innovative.
Will there be variants in Magepunk 3.0?
It has been leaked by various reliable data mining sources, such as @Shiick on Twitter, that this time the Magepunk skins will have variants that are more than just different colored electricity flowing through the guns.
There will be four variants of the Magepunk 3.0 Vandal, Phantom, and melee, which are:
- Bronze and grey (default)
- Steel and dark grey
- Brass and blue-green
- Golden
How much will Valorant's Magepunk 3.0 Collection cost?
The previous Magepunk collections belonged to the Premium tier of skins, so it can be presumed that the Magepunk 3.0 will also belong to the same tier. Therefore, the Phantom and the Vandal will cost 1775 VP while the knife will cost 3550 VP. However, as seen with the newer skin collections like the Oni 2.0, the melee skin is priced higher than usual because of the level of detail.
That said, considering the collection will feature only two gun skins, you can purchase the entire collection for 3,550 VP. This will give you the melee skin for free, along with the player card, buddy, and spray. This will be good news for many players as this collection comes after the release of the most expensive skin collection in the game so far. It is also quite considerate of players' pockets.
This is pretty much all the information you need to know before the Magepunk 3.0 collection hits your Valorant stores on May 29, 2023.
