Valorant unveils VCT 2025 Team Capsules, with EDG stealing the spotlight

Valorant Esports' X page announced the release of VCT 2025 Team Capsules on January 7, 2025. These packs are a great way for the community to show support for their favorite teams competing at the highest level. A percentage of all the proceeds from the sale of these bundles go to the respective organizations throughout the competitive season. It is an efficient route that can be used by fans to help out different teams while acquiring exclusive cosmetics.

The VCT 2025 Team Capsules will be quite similar to its predecessor and feature a team-themed Classic with digital markings that can be viewed when inspecting the weapon. The X post also highlights a few other items that would be available in the capsules including unique player cards with some fresh design changes.

VCT 2025 Team Capsules will be available for the entire season and mark the arrival of the year-exclusive Champions Collection. Moreover, a Season Capsule will also be arriving in the store and is slated to feature a unique melee skin. The details about the Season Capsule are limited and will be revealed in detail at a later date.

Coming back to the VCT 2025 Team Capsules, the collections will come with a single team-themed Classic skin, gun buddy, and a unique player card. The devs have adopted a Midnight Splash design theme for this year’s collection. This makes the new Classic cosmetic different from the 2024 version and helps teams express more creativity with a new theme.

Apart from the design, there are a few new features that fans can expect from these capsules. The gun skin will have a new set of branding elements alongside an achievements tracker to showcase the major victories of the respective teams. The new player cards will also receive a makeover and feature vibrant finishes to make them stand out in online lobbies.

The player card for EDG will feature a unique Champion’s flair to commemorate the team’s outstanding performance as the 2024 World Champions. The flair will not be available on other team capsules.

Almost all the capsules will be available in the Esports Store in the game directly. The devs will be adding skins of teams promoted from Ascension and Boom Esports later in the season. Players who already own a 2024 item of a team can enjoy a returner discount, making it easier to support their favorite teams. However, the exact discount amount and applicable items have not been revealed at the time of writing this article.
