FIVB Men's U21 World Championships: India upset Japan to reach quarter-finals

Coach T.C. Jothish’s Indian U21 volleyball team continued their winning streak as they upset Japan by beating them in straight sets with a 25-18, 25-23, 25-20 victory at the FIVB U21 Men’s Volleyball World Championship.

India imposed themselves on the first set as they took it comfortably 25-18. The Japanese team fought back to take control of the second set until the 20th, point but a spirited India rallied and edged the set 25-23.

The India team took control of the match in the 3rd set as some terrific blocking saw them take the final third set 25-20.

Kumar Sohan top scored for India with 13 points while Yuki Ishikawa led the Japanese with 11.
