Anderson attended Pennsylvania State University, where he played collegiate volleyball for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2006 to 2008. In his professional career, he has played for several clubs, including Hyundai Capital, Volley Callipo, Modena Volley, Zenit Kazan, Sir Safety Perugia, Zenit Saint Petersburg, and currently, Ziraat Bankası Ankara. Since 2007, he has also been a key player for the United States national team, primarily serving as an outside hitter and opposite.
